I’ve thought a lot about what’s the best way to honor God. How do you know whether you’re honoring God or not? Is it enough to simply read your scriptures or attend Sunday church and listen to the sermon? In this blog, I’ve come up with a different idea. Let’s dive in!
For many months, one question dominated my mind: How do I honor God? What’s the best way to know whether God is pleased with me? I finally came to the conclusion that the best way to honor God is to simply live your life.
The best thing we can do is celebrate our lives. I believe this makes sense because we received our lives from God. He created us in His own image and gave us the gift of life. If we aren’t appreciating this gift, are we truly honoring God? I don’t think so. I can say with deep conviction that God wants us to live our lives fully! He wants us to sing the song of our lives and share it with those around us. He wants us to spread love and joy to others.
I don’t know if you agree with me, but I believe life itself reflects the presence of God! Life is invaluable; nothing surpasses it. Yet, I think most of us don’t appreciate our lives. We don’t feel gratitude for it. There may be many reasons for this, but one thing is certain: many of us have turned our lives into a living hell. If you’re unhappy with your life, how can you show love for God? Many of us live in misery because we’re unaware of our actions. We’re unconscious of what we do. We’re afraid to let go of our connection to misery. Many of us have become so accustomed to suffering that we cling to it like someone clinging to a dead body! No wonder we aren’t living our lives fully. No wonder we aren’t celebrating the gift of life—clinging to misery seems more important than embracing joy.
The best thing we can do is venture into the unknown. We should embrace new things in our lives because the “new” comes from God, from existence itself. We need to ask ourselves one key question: How long will we live with unbearable suffering? At some point, you have to let go of your past. You have to release your old self and dive into the ocean of life. Life is wild and uncertain, full of adventure. You can’t expect to travel the road of life without facing challenges, but if you confront those challenges, you’ll have a great opportunity for growth—and growth brings you closer to God.
So, the bottom line is this: Dive right in and celebrate your life. Live fully and complete your song of life before you die! That’s the true way to honor God.
