Take out sometime to reflect

Life can become increasingly busy and stressful. Every day there’s so much to do. Sometimes it feels like 24 hours isn’t enough. We often forget to take time for ourselves to reflect on how our day went.
I used to be the kind of person who wondered, “What’s the point of reflecting?” I was always in “go-go-go” mode. Then one day I read something about Stoic philosophy. At first I thought it wasn’t for me, but as I paid more attention and dove deeper, it started making more and more sense.
Here’s what I actually do now: I put my phone aside for 15 minutes and sit in my room. I don’t do anything. I simply listen to my thoughts and observe them. I can tell you that those 15 minutes I spend with myself are the most productive minutes of my entire day. I wish I had known about this sooner, but it’s all good now.
I truly believe you can only understand your life if you sit quietly in your room for a while and do nothing. At first, it’s really hard. Your mind will keep telling you there’s no point in doing this. You have to stop listening to that voice.
I know that for some people it’s hard to even carve out 15 minutes in their day. If, after reading this, you decide to give it a try, I would sincerely appreciate it.
