The big question that everyone is asking about the Iran war is this: can the USA really cripple the economy of Iran? Is it even possible? In this blog post I will talk about this issue.
For my readers, I have been covering this war very intensely. The future of supply of crude oil depends upon the outcome of this war. After allegedly defeating Iran numerous times, Trump is now saying that he is going to crush the Iran economy. He is going to cripple it. First of all, is the US economy doing well? Has the US government already found a solution to their $40 trillion debt? I would advise the government of the USA to make their economy better before destroying the economy of Iran.
The foreign minister of Iran Araghchi listed failed U.S. efforts over 14 years—from Obama’s ‘most crippling sanctions’ to Trump’s ‘maximum pressure’ and recent ‘unconditional surrender’ demands—predicting the new ‘most crushing economic operation’ will fail too. President Trump announced an ‘Economic D-Day’ with vows of the toughest measures yet and warnings to any aiding Iran. My personal take is this: this ‘economic D-Day’ is bound to fail. The USA has already put the toughest of all sanctions on Iran before 2026 and the end result is none of those sanctions have actually worked. People of Iran are still living. China said it won’t listen to Trump. China will continue to trade with Iran. The bottom line is this: China and Iran don’t give a fuck to Trump’s threats.
It’s true that Iran’s economy is collapsing. People are suffering. My thinking is where have the moral values gone? Trump every day, on his Truth Social, says he is going to target civilian infrastructure. He is going to put economic sanctions. Why on Earth is the international community not saying anything? Are people living in the Middle East not humans? It’s shameful to see how Israel is killing innocent people in Gaza in the name of terrorism. Why are we letting this happen? If the military and economic system of Iran is already collapsing or collapsed then why don’t we just end the war?
I had supported Trump in the 2024 elections and I was sure he would not start a new war but I was wrong. If he had already destroyed the nuclear facilities then why is he threatening Iran with economic D-Day? Why doesn’t he focus on the economy of the USA? Why doesn’t he focus on the midterms that he is eventually going to lose? I am sure he will blame it on the Republicans.
Trump needs to wake up and stop this ongoing war.
