is the cost of living coming down ?…… Hello?

Dear Canadians, you need to ask yourself and your government honestly: Is the cost of living actually coming down? I am sure the majority of you will agree with me that it is still damn high. In this post, I will talk about inflation and how it continues to impact ordinary Canadians.
Canada’s latest annual inflation rate (CPI) stands at 3.2% as of May 2026, up from 2.8% in April. We are still in a recession even though the economy grew just 0.5 percent. We remain very far behind. Our growth rate is the slowest among the G7 nations. Even though the government claims immigration levels have come down, you can still see many immigrants in colleges and universities across the country. Let me be clear: I am not against immigration. I am only against mass immigration.
Rents are still sky-high. In a town like Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, a decent two-bedroom apartment costs $1,300 with nothing included. Young people have given up hope of ever owning a house in their lifetime. This is both horrifying and deeply sad. Gasoline prices have surged over 33% year-over-year, pushing energy costs higher due to global oil price shocks from Middle East conflicts. It’s painful to see that even though Canada is so rich in oil and gas, we still suffer from high fuel prices. We are painfully slow at building core infrastructure like pipelines and refineries. Bureaucracy is killing Canada’s growth. On top of all this, food prices rose 3.8% overall, with big increases in fresh fruits and vegetables.
If some people still say everything is fine in Canada, I challenge them: Go talk to people working at minimum wage. Go talk to those in the fast-food sector. Ask them how they are managing to make ends meet. Salute their spirit and strength. To all those delusional people, I say this: Prices are still rising, even if the pace has slowed from the post-pandemic peaks. The cost of living continues to increase, meaning the same basket of goods and services costs more than it did a year ago.
Liberal policies are weak, too slow, and ineffective. Our inflation remains high and our growth rate is pathetic. Canadians need to ask their government: What the fuck are you doing to this country?
